Claims must be verifiable.
COFNII checks primary evidence and may contact the issuing or awarding organisation. A CV or attendance certificate is not accepted as vocational proof on its own.

Where a fee is quoted, COFNII confirms the scope and price before evidence review or assessment begins.

What can be published
Associate Members receive no approved-installer, corporate, provider or trainer directory listing. The category must not be used to advertise verified technical competence.
LOGO AND BADGE USE
What the mark means
The Associate Member mark may show support for COFNII. It must always be described as Associate Membership and must not be displayed as an Approved Installer, Certified Trainer or approved business credential.

01 Pay the annual fee and confirm current contact information.
02 Continue to follow the Code of Conduct and badge rules.
03 Update COFNII if progressing to a different role or membership route.
04 Stop using the Associate Member mark if membership expires or ends.
Renewal protects the value of every COFNII mark by checking that the evidence and conduct behind it have not expired.
Do I need a qualification to become an Associate Member?
No. This is a supporter and development category. It does not verify technical competence or replace a vocational qualification.
Does Associate Membership include voting rights?
No. It is a non-voting category, although associates may be invited to suitable events, consultations and open AGM sessions.
Can an apprentice join?
Yes. Associate Membership provides a useful route for apprentices and learners while they work toward vocational achievement and occupational competence.
Can I advertise myself as a COFNII-approved installer?
No. Associate Members must not use approved terminology or badges. Approved Installer status requires a separate qualification and evidence assessment.

Can I upgrade later?
Yes. You may apply for another membership or approval route once you meet its eligibility and evidence requirements. The relevant assessment and fee will apply.
