FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING ORGANISATIONS

COFNII Approved Training Provider

Approved Training Provider membership is for organisations with credible governance, resources, occupational expertise, assessment and internal quality-assurance arrangements.

ANNUAL FEE

From £495

The annual organisational membership is charged at the same rate as Corporate Membership. Provider approval and individual trainer assessments are separate.

A defined route for the right applicant.

—— WHO IT IS FOR

✓ Training providers delivering vocational fibre-optic, structured-cabling, testing or network-infrastructure programmes.

✓ Awarding-organisation approved centres and specialist providers with robust assessment and IQA controls.

✓ Employers operating credible in-house technical training and assessment programmes.

✓ Providers seeking an evidence-led public listing for approved delivery scopes and locations.

—— ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Requirements before an application can succeed.

COFNII applies proportionate checks to the status claimed. Payment never overrides a missing requirement.

01

A legally established training organisation with accountable governance and suitable insurance.

02

Recognised awarding-organisation or certification relationships for regulated or externally certified programmes where applicable.

03

Suitable training facilities, calibrated test equipment, tools, consumables, learning resources and safe systems of work.

04

06

02  Awarding-organisation approvals, qualification scopes and current centre status where applicable.

03  Trainer and assessor matrix with qualifications, disciplines, CPD and standardisation records.

Where a fee is quoted, COFNII confirms the scope and price before evidence review or assessment begins.

AGM AND VOTING RIGHTS

Your constitutional position

DIRECTORY OR REGISTER

What can be published

A successful provider assessment gives a public training-provider listing limited to the verified organisation, sites, programme areas and current Certified Trainers. Membership payment alone does not create a listing.

LOGO AND BADGE USE

What the mark means

The provider may use the Approved Training Provider mark only for the approved organisation and scope. Course advertising must identify the actual awarding organisation and qualification accurately and must not imply that COFNII issued another body’s award.

—— RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

01  Pay the annual organisational membership fee and complete the provider renewal declaration.

02  Maintain awarding relationships, insurance, facilities, equipment and qualified staff.

03  Provide current trainer, assessor, IQA, CPD and standardisation records.

04  Report sanctions, adverse awarding-body findings, material complaints, delivery-site changes and scope changes promptly.

05  Permit periodic sampling, surveillance or reassessment proportionate to risk and scope.

Renewal protects the value of every COFNII mark by checking that the evidence and conduct behind it have not expired.

Does the £495 annual fee buy approval?

No. It pays for organisational membership. Approval is awarded only after the provider meets the published requirements and passes the separate evidence and quality review.

Can COFNII approve a provider that delivers only manufacturer courses?

Product training may form part of a programme, but provider approval will not present a short attendance course as equivalent to a regulated vocational qualification.

Must we be an awarding-organisation approved centre?

Where regulated qualifications are delivered, the relevant centre and qualification approvals must be evidenced. Other specialist provision may be considered against its own certification, governance and assessment arrangements.

Are all our trainers approved when the provider is approved?

No. Each trainer must apply separately and pass the evidence and discipline-specific assessment required for Certified Trainer status.
