COMMITTEE APPROVED - 4TH JULY 2026
This document forms part of the approved COFNII governance framework.
1. Ownership and permission
COFNII names, logos, membership badges, approval marks, certification marks and related artwork are protected intellectual property. Possession of an image file does not grant permission to use it.
An authorised user receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use only the mark supplied for their current status and only in accordance with this policy and the brand guidance.
2. Permitted use
Use the exact current artwork supplied by COFNII without changing words, proportions, colours or components.
Place the mark with sufficient clear space and at a readable size.
Use a Corporate Member badge to describe organisational membership, not approval of every employee, project or service.
Use an Approved Installer, Approved Training Provider or Certified Trainer mark only for the current scope shown on the public register.
Include a membership or trainer number where the applicable brand rules require it.
3. Prohibited use
Do not imply that COFNII designed, inspected, warranted or accepted a specific project unless COFNII confirms this in writing.
Do not place a mark on a certificate, qualification, course or assessment that COFNII has not expressly authorised.
Do not allow another company, subcontractor, franchise, trainer or related entity to use your status.
Do not combine the mark with another logo in a way that creates a new joint brand or suggests endorsement.
Do not use a mark after expiry, suspension, withdrawal or termination, or while public status is disputed and an interim restriction applies.
4. Digital verification
Where COFNII provides a verification link, QR code or secure digital badge, it must resolve to the official COFNII record and must not be redirected, cloned or altered. Screenshots do not replace live verification.
5. Monitoring and withdrawal
COFNII may require examples of use, correction of misleading material or removal within a specified period. Permission ends automatically when the related status ends. Serious misuse may lead to takedown action, suspension, termination, recovery of reasonable enforcement costs where lawful, and intellectual-property proceedings.
